Scientific Assistant to Vice Presidium International Affairs & University Development (m, f, d)- 30 hours

Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a new colleague to join the Office of the Vice President International and University Development in Berlin. The position is academically affiliated with the Vice President International and University Development and works closely with the International Office, faculties, programme directors and international partner institutions. In this position you will support the Vice President in the day-to-day coordination of priorities and activities while also taking an active role in the development and implementation of UE’s international academic partnerships, teaching collaborations, programmes and strategic initiatives. The position combines academic and organisational support, coordination of international teaching and cooperation projects, research and strategic development. It serves as an important interface between the Vice President International, academic and administrative units across UE and international partner universities, helping to ensure that ongoing activities and new initiatives are effectively prepared, coordinated and followed through.

Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Coordinate ongoing international teaching collaborations, including coordination of lecturers and communication with academic partners Support the development and coordination of international academic projects and cooperation formats, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of UE’s Internationalisation and Sustainability Strategies and related strategic initiatives. Conduct research, benchmarking and analysis on international higher education, academic structures, potential partners and relevant international developments Provide academic and organisational support to the Vice President International in day-to-day activities Maintain project documentation and monitor responsibilities, deadlines and next steps across ongoing international projects Prepare briefings, presentations, background information and decision-making materials for the Vice President International Support further academic and strategic projects within the portfolio of the Vice President International and University Development

Your profile

University degree at Master’s level or equivalent in social sciences, humanities, international relations, education, management or another relevant field; a PhD is an advantage but not required Previous professional experience in higher education, international academic cooperation, university management or project coordination is an advantage Ability to work independently on new topics and to coordinate projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders Strong analytical, research and organisational skills Ability to structure complex information and prepare concise briefings, presentations and decision-making materials Excellent command of English and German, both written and spoken Strong communication and intercultural skills and the ability to interact effectively with academic staff, university management and international partners Structured, proactive and reliable working style with a high level of independence Willingness to travel occasionally Good command of Office 365, including MS Teams, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
