Our team: The Desktop Build Group (DBG) works closely with Bloomberg’s existing and prospective clients to find solutions to business needs using Bloomberg’s API for Excel, Power BI and Python. We partner with clients to design, build and implement custom desktop and enterprise API solutions that streamline data analysis, automate manual processes, and enhance reporting workflows. Last year we delivered over 2500 projects to clients and our solutions on the Bloomberg Terminal are used by over 120,000 financial professionals. We are a global team with colleagues based in London, New York, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney. What's the role? You will use your financial markets knowledge and technical expertise to consult with Bloomberg clients and prospective clients, helping them develop and implement investment strategies, research workflows and custom business solutions using Bloomberg APIs, Excel, VBA, Python, and our cutting-edge query language (BQL). With access to the world’s most comprehensive financial database, you will have a direct impact on Bloomberg revenue by working closely with our Sales and Account Management teams to develop tactical desktop workflows that support Bloomberg Terminal and Enterprise sales. Your role will involve full life-cycle development, from initial demos to prospective clients, requirement gathering, prototyping, implementation, and deployment. You will also have the opportunity to create strategic resources and client-facing content that showcase Bloomberg’s data and API capabilities while reflecting current events in the marketplace. We'll trust you to: * Partner with our Sales and Account Management teams to identify client workflow needs and build tactical API-based solutions that increase revenue opportunities for Bloomberg. * Support enterprise API implementations, including discovery, requirements gathering, solution architecture, prototyping, development, testing, and deployment. * Collaborate with product development teams and R&D to provide feedback on future BQL enhancements and socialize new releases and product updates with internal teams and clients. * Provide technical guidance on new strategies, workflow automation, analytics, reporting or migration projects that clients wish to implement using Bloomberg APIs. * Create reusable technical resources, demos and client-facing content that showcase Bloomberg data and API capabilities. * Occasional travel may be required. You’ll need to have: * At least 3 years of working experience in the Financial Services or Financial Technology industry * Strong technical knowledge of Excel. * Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of Python (or other coding language). * Previous experience working with front office in financial markets and expertise in one or more asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, FX, etc.) * Previous experience using Bloomberg Terminal or other data vendors. * Strategic mindset and strong commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate the business opportunity and impact of a project before execution. * Highly articulate, consultative and confident in client interactions. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. We 'd love to see: * Previous experience with the Bloomberg query language (BQL). * Technical knowledge of VBA * Previous experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau. * Knowledge of query languages such as SQL or similar. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
