Supervisor – Track

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Salary: Starting at $72,800 per year, with higher rates available based on experience.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Field Operations Supervisor to lead and manage field crews supporting railroad derailment response, railcar repair, load adjustment and transfer, and track maintenance and construction projects.
This position is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, maintaining high-quality standards, and providing professional service to railroad customers and regulatory stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Direct daily activities and assign work to field crews.
- Conduct safety meetings and enforce PPE, FRA, DOT, and company safety requirements.
- Oversee field projects and assist with hands-on work and heavy equipment operations.
- Communicate professionally with customers and regulatory agencies.
- Complete payroll, equipment-use records, and project reports accurately.
- Train, coach, and evaluate crew members.
- Develop job quotes covering labor, equipment, and logistics.
- Check equipment readiness and coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Keep projects on schedule while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of railroad industry experience.
- Working knowledge of FRA, DOT, and applicable safety regulations .
- Strong leadership, communication, and crew-management abilities.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and reporting systems .
- Valid driver's license; CDL Class A or B preferred .
- Heavy equipment operating experience, including cranes, excavators, or similar equipment .
- Ability to read and understand load charts and rigging practices .
- Ability to lead crews during demanding, time-sensitive field operations.
- Strong organization, documentation, and reporting skills.
Work Requirements
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Frequent travel and overnight stays are required.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, walking on uneven terrain, and working extended hours.
- Ability to work safely in active railroad and other field environments.
