Job Summary

We are currently seeking an International Tax Manager to join our team in our New York City office location. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Leading and managing complex U.S. international tax compliance engagements for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.

- Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of international information returns, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 8938, 8992, 8993, 1118, 926, 8621, FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR), and related filings.

- Advising clients on cross-border tax planning strategies involving Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFCs), Subpart F, NCTI, foreign tax credits, transfer pricing, treaty positions, and foreign reporting requirements.

- Analyzing the U.S. tax consequences of inbound and outbound investments, international restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, entity classifications, and global expansion initiatives.

- Serving as the firm's internal international tax technical resource, providing guidance to partners, managers, and staff on clients with international tax considerations.

- Supporting engagement teams across all service lines by identifying international tax risks, reporting obligations, and planning opportunities affecting their clients.

- Collaborating with State and Local Tax, Trust and Estate, Transaction Advisory, Audit, and Client Accounting Services teams on multidisciplinary client engagements.

- Coordinating with foreign tax advisors, legal counsel, and other external professionals to develop and implement global tax solutions.

- Researching and interpreting U.S. tax laws, Treasury Regulations, tax treaties, IRS guidance, and foreign tax developments affecting clients.

- Mentoring, training, and developing tax professionals while providing technical leadership and quality review of engagement work products.

- Managing engagement budgets, staffing, project timelines, and overall client service delivery.

- Participating in business development activities, including proposals, presentations, networking, and identifying opportunities to expand international tax services.

- Developing internal training programs, technical alerts, and thought leadership materials to enhance firm-wide international tax knowledge and capabilities.

- Seeking opportunities to contribute to training, recruiting, and retention efforts, supporting firm-wide and departmental goals

- Preparing clear, concise, and professional client deliverables

- Maintaining strong client relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

- Ensuring compliance with applicable professional standards and firm policies

- Meeting project deadlines and manage time efficiently across multiple engagements

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience

- CPA license

- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CCH Axcess, and CaseWare

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

- Maintains a high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrates respect for others

CPA Incentive: Financial assistance toward the achievement of the CPA certification which includes the cost of the CPA study materials, CPA exam registration and sitting fees for all 4 parts (up to 2 x per part), plus the CPA application and licensing fees. Paid study time during work hours, additional paid time off to take your scheduled exam and a bonus paid upon passing the CPA exam.

Compensation for this role is determined based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to your relevant experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes performance-based incentives, wellness and retirement programs, and opportunities for continuous professional development.

Salary ranges are provided to offer transparency and may vary depending on final candidate qualifications and local market conditions. Please find compensation information below for candidates residing in the following market(s):

New York ranges are from $130,000 – $170,000.
