About this role
The Technician Pharmacy I is an entry level health-system pharmacy position. They perform medication preparation and distribution tasks under a pharmacist’s supervision. Additionally, they gain knowledge and experience in essential functions of the pharmacy including compounding, automated dispensing technology and software, regulatory requirements, documentation and inventory management.
Required Education: High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
Required Experience / Skills: Sufficient math skills to readily learn metric system, metric conversion, and ratio & proportion calculations. Sufficient verbal skills to readily learn medical terminology.
Required Certifications and Licensures: Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
