The Role
We are seeking a Power BI Business Researcher to join the Business Insights team and support strategic growth initiatives across a global network of offices.
Working at the intersection of research, analytics and business development, you will deliver market intelligence, competitor insights and data-driven analysis that supports strategic decision-making across the business. A key focus of the role will be transforming complex data into meaningful dashboards, visualisations and management information that enable stakeholders to identify opportunities, monitor performance and make informed decisions.
This role is suited to an individual who combines strong commercial research capabilities with advanced Power BI expertise and a passion for using data to generate business insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market, competitor, jurisdictional, sector and target company research.
- Analyse internal and external data to identify market trends, growth opportunities and potential business risks.
- Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations for business stakeholders.
- Develop automated reporting solutions that improve accessibility and understanding of key business information.
- Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
- Produce research reports, briefing papers and presentation materials for senior stakeholders.
- Support business development initiatives through target analysis, prospect identification and meeting preparation materials.
- Monitor competitor activity, market developments and emerging trends across key jurisdictions and sectors.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across international offices to understand business requirements and reporting needs.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy and consistency across reporting and research outputs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high levels of quality and attention to detail.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Degree or professional qualification in Business, Information Management, Data Analytics, Marketing, Economics or a related discipline.
- Proven experience conducting business, market or commercial research.
- Demonstrable experience building dashboards, reports and visualisations in Power BI (essential).
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data transformation and reporting best practices.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, Power Query and data analysis techniques.
- Ability to analyse and interpret large datasets and communicate findings to non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with multiple data sources and transforming data into meaningful business intelligence.
- Strong written communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality outputs.
- Experience within financial services, legal services, professional services or offshore markets would be advantageous.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
