Manager, Business Development
Travel: up to 25%
Role Overview
The Manager, Business Development is a people leader responsible for coaching, developing, and leading a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to generate high-quality pipeline and support company growth objectives.
This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about developing talent and are ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. This Manager will partner closely with Business Development leadership, Sales, and Marketing to execute pipeline generation strategies while creating an environment where team members can grow, perform, and advance their careers.
Success in this role requires a strong commitment to coaching, accountability, and team development. The ideal candidate is someone who leads by example, builds trust quickly, and is energized by helping others reach their full potential.
This role reports to the Director of Business Development.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coaching
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Development Representatives to achieve individual and team pipeline goals.
* Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance coaching sessions, and career development conversations.
* Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and prospecting excellence.
* Support onboarding and ramping of new team members to accelerate productivity.
* Identify strengths and development opportunities within the team and create actionable growth plans.
Pipeline Generation & Execution
* Drive consistent delivery of qualified pipeline through effective coaching and performance management.
* Monitor activity, conversion rates, and pipeline quality metrics to ensure alignment with business objectives.
* Reinforce qualification standards and best practices that improve opportunity quality and sales outcomes.
* Partner with Sales leadership to ensure seamless alignment and effective handoff of opportunities.
Building the Business Development Brand
* Help establish Business Development as a trusted and respected partner within the Sales organization.
* Promote a culture focused on quality, professionalism, and customer-centric engagement.
* Represent the team positively in cross-functional meetings and interactions.
* Celebrate team successes and reinforce behaviors that strengthen the reputation of the Business Development organization.
Operational Excellence
* Leverage data and reporting to monitor team performance and identify coaching opportunities.
* Execute established business development processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure adherence to activity standards, CRM hygiene, and operational best practices.
* Collaborate with leadership to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience.
* 3-6 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development, Sales, or a related SaaS environment.
* Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics to improve team performance.
* Passion for developing people and helping others succeed.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior people management experience preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and support peers or junior team members.
* Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding performance goals.
* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build strong relationships across Sales, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.

The pay range for this position is $80,800.00 to $116,150.00. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
