Janitorial, Cleaning & Repair Custodian

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Janitorial, Cleaning & Repair Custodian to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and functional facility through routine cleaning, minor repairs, preventive maintenance, and general custodial duties.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, can work independently, and is willing to assist with a variety of cleaning and facility maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Janitorial Duties

- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
- Clean and sanitize offices, common areas, breakrooms, and workspaces.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms and replenish necessary supplies.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Clean windows, doors, fixtures, and other surfaces as needed.
- Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures, and sanitation standards.

Maintenance & Repair Duties

- Perform minor repairs, including replacing light bulbs, door handles, locks, ceiling tiles, and similar items.
- Assist with routine building maintenance and facility inspections.
- Identify and report major maintenance or repair issues to management.
- Set up, move, and organize furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Perform basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, and general repair work when required.
- Assist with preventive maintenance to help keep facilities and equipment in good working condition.

Safety Responsibilities

- Follow company safety policies and established sanitation standards.
- Safely operate custodial equipment, maintenance tools, and related equipment.
- Properly use, store, and handle cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines.
- Keep walkways, entrances, work areas, and common areas clean and free of hazards.
- Promptly report unsafe conditions or potential safety concerns.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and basic maintenance tools.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining reliable attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
