About the Role

PrideStaff is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer I to join a dynamic team dedicated to developing excellence in automation, machine design, material handling, and custom tooling. This role plays a key part in maintaining strict quality standards across incoming parts, electro-mechanical assemblies, and custom-engineered equipment.

The ideal candidate possesses a solutions-oriented mindset, strong technical troubleshooting abilities, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with operations, engineering, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Incoming Inspection: Perform thorough incoming inspections on parts to verify compliance against engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Assembly & Functionality Inspection: Inspect assembled tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality and high-quality workmanship in accordance with drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and work instructions.

Controls & Electrical Troubleshooting: Perform low-voltage wire troubleshooting (particularly within industrial electrical cabinets) and technician-level testing of controls software on PLCs, IPCs, PCBs, and HMIs.

Issue Escalation & Continuous Improvement: Swiftly communicate issues to site leadership and operations. Elevate complex software/controls issues to Controls Engineers while documenting mechanical and wiring fixes to drive continuous improvement with assembly teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering field, OR

5+ years of hands-on Quality Engineering / Quality Inspection experience with technical training.

Background: Up to 5 years of experience in quality inspection, quality engineering, or electro-mechanical assembly and testing of OEM equipment.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and industrial work instructions.

Familiarity with standard quality inspection tools (e.g., calipers).

Working knowledge of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5-2009 or later) for quality inspections.

Experience with low-voltage wiring troubleshooting in industrial electrical environments.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Travel: Travel required between manufacturing sites in Fountain Valley, CA and St. George, UT (the primary focus for the first 12 months will be supporting the Fountain Valley facility).

Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $32.00 - $40.00 Per Hour
