Sr. Software Development Engineer (Full Stack), Amazon Robotics

Description

You will design and build the full-stack software that keeps thousands of robots moving across Amazon's fulfillment network. Your work directly shapes how warehouses operate — from real-time monitoring dashboards that surface equipment health to maintenance tools that reduce downtime and keep packages flowing to customers on time. Every feature you ship is tested against live robotic systems, giving you rapid, tangible feedback on the impact of your code.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who is curious, collaborative, and ready to own complex technical problems end to end. You will define technical strategy for your team, mentor fellow engineers, and drive architectural decisions across multiple services. Key job responsibilities
• Design and lead the architecture of full-stack services that monitor, manage, and maintain robotic fulfillment equipment, balancing scalability, performance, and security trade-offs across front-end and back-end systems.
• Own the technical direction for your team's software portfolio - evaluate when to extend existing solutions versus build new ones, and guide engineers through design reviews to ensure quality and coherence.
• Collaborate with operations, hardware, and partner software teams to translate real-world warehouse needs into well-scoped technical requirements and deliver incremental, production-ready releases.
• Mentor and coach engineers on your team and across related teams, raising the engineering bar through code reviews, design guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Prototype new capabilities using simulation tools and live robotic equipment, integrating customer feedback to iterate quickly and validate solutions before broad rollout.

About the team
Our team builds the software that Amazon's warehouse associates and engineers rely on to keep robotic systems healthy and productive. We own floor-management workflows, real-time visualization and troubleshooting tools, and maintenance-management platforms that together support robotic operations across hundreds of fulfillment sites. Our roadmap is focused on autonomous monitoring infrastructure and intelligent maintenance systems, and you will help shape that direction. We value pragmatic engineering, open collaboration, and a shared commitment to making our tools intuitive for the people who use them every day.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
