About this role
Farnsworth Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern - Summer 2027 . In this role, you will have the opportunity to expand your mechanical engineering knowledge and work with a team of experienced mechanical engineers on a variety of mechanical engineering-related projects integral to the design of buildings. The Mechanical team’s projects focus on commercial, educational, recreational, banking, healthcare and local & federal government facilities, both new construction and renovation work.
What You’ll Do:
- HVAC and Plumbing design for various projects
- Prepare load calculations and concept system designs in preparation for construction documents
- Construction administration
- Gain knowledge in building codes and system design
- Work as part of a design team
- Create HVAC and plumbing drawings using Revit and AutoCAD software packages
- Observing construction at various job sites
- General project and office/ field support
What You Need:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Revit and/or AutoCAD experience would be beneficial
- Computer proficiency with MS Office, Excel and Word
- Strong written and oral communication skills
