THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead cable-related sourcing and supply management activities for server and rack system solutions. This position will partner with cable suppliers, engineering teams, procurement, and other cross-functional stakeholders to manage sourcing activities throughout the product design and development lifecycle. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for supplier quotations and negotiations, costed BOM management, NPI development costs, material readiness, forecast and demand execution, and supply-chain risk mitigation.

THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented sourcing and supply-chain professional with experience supporting cable products used in server and rack systems. You have a strong understanding of BOM structures, product design milestones, NPI processes, supplier management, procurement principles, and material planning. You can manage multiple priorities, analyze complex information, maintain accurate trackers, and communicate effectively with suppliers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders. You take ownership of issues, act with urgency, and follow actions through resolution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct RFQs with cable suppliers for costed BOMs, NPI development expenses, tooling or other applicable nonrecurring costs, and engineering change requirements at each product design milestone.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and negotiate pricing, development costs, change-related expenses, material commitments, and delivery schedules.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with cable suppliers to support sourcing, product development, and supply continuity objectives.
- Track and manage cable-related BOMs, part numbers, supplier information, costs, and change histories throughout each milestone of the product design lifecycle.
- Partner with engineering teams and cable suppliers to understand design requirements, identify sourcing dependencies, and support the timely execution of NPI activities.
- Monitor raw-material readiness with suppliers and maintain clear, well-structured trackers for material status, shortages, risks, actions, owners, and recovery dates.
- Identify, track, and report critical material shortages and coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to expedite raw materials and improve delivery schedules.
- Release cable-related forecasts and demand orders to suppliers and negotiate supply commitments to support required production and material delivery schedules.
- Work with suppliers, engineers, procurement, and supply-chain teams to develop and execute material-readiness and supply-risk mitigation plans.
- Proactively identify potential continuity, capacity, lead-time, quality, cost, and delivery risks and drive corrective actions through resolution.
- Manage material readiness in a manner that supports supply continuity while reducing excess and obsolete inventory exposure.
- Use analytical tools and supply-chain data to evaluate forecasts, demand requirements, supplier performance, material readiness, and sourcing risks.
- Communicate status, priorities, issues, and recommended actions clearly and accurately to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills by maintaining accurate sourcing and material-readiness trackers.
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced product development and supply-chain environment.
- Take accountability for assigned actions and proactively drive issues to timely resolution.
- Collaborate effectively across organizations to achieve sourcing, supply-chain, and company objectives.
- Maintain a strong focus on results, information accuracy, and attention to detail

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply planning, supplier management, or a related supply-chain function.
- Industry experience within ODM/OEM manufacturing, server system solutions, rack-level infrastructure, electronics, cables, or a related technology manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing supplier RFQs, costed BOMs, NPI development expenses, forecasts, purchase or demand releases, and delivery commitments.
- Knowledge of cable products, BOM structures, part number management, product design processes, and engineering change activities for server or rack systems.
- Experience monitoring supplier material readiness, identifying material shortages, expediting deliveries, and developing supply-risk mitigation plans.
- Understanding of excess and obsolete inventory risk and the relationship between forecasts, demand changes, supplier commitments, and material procurement.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience analyzing data using PivotTables, VLOOKUP or comparable lookup functions, formulas, filters, and structured trackers.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with suppliers, engineers, procurement professionals, operations teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proficiency in procurement and supply-chain principles and practices.
- Professional proficiency in English; bilingual proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Administration, Technology Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
