The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Developer to join our enterprise applications team in US. This role combines hands-on Salesforce engineering with technical leadership, delivery ownership, production support, and people-management responsibilities within AssetMark's growing Technology team.
As a Senior Salesforce Developer, you will design, build, enhance, maintain, and support scalable and secure Salesforce capabilities that enable AssetMark's wealth management platform and business operations. You will work closely with architects, product managers, administrators, business partners, engineering teams, and other technology stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into high-quality enterprise solutions across the Salesforce ecosystem.
You will take ownership of complex Salesforce initiatives from solution design and development through testing, deployment, production stabilization, ongoing support, and maintenance. You will be expected to proactively identify technical and delivery risks, resolve complex production issues, improve application reliability and maintainability, and contribute to the long-term health of the Salesforce platform.
In addition to being a senior individual contributor, you will serve as a people manager and technical mentor for junior and mid-level Salesforce developers . You will be responsible for their day-to-day work, technical guidance, code and design reviews, delivery quality, coaching, performance feedback, career development, and overall effectiveness.
This role is based in US and follows a hybrid work model. You will collaborate with colleagues across United States and the India, with reasonable working-hour overlap when needed for team ceremonies, planning, production support, release activities and delivery.
We can only consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.
Key Responsibilities
- Salesforce Solution Development: Design, build, test, enhance, and maintain scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flows, SOQL/SOSL, JavaScript, and declarative platform capabilities.
- Technical Leadership & Solution Design: Lead technical design for complex Salesforce initiatives, translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, evaluate implementation alternatives, and ensure designs align with enterprise architecture, security, performance, maintainability, and Salesforce best practices.
- Financial Services Cloud Delivery: Lead the implementation and enhancement of Financial Services Cloud capabilities supporting client onboarding, households, relationship management, financial accounts, referrals, advisor productivity, and other wealth-management business processes.
- People Management & Team Development: Manage junior and mid-level Salesforce developers, including work allocation, goal setting, coaching, regular feedback, performance discussions, career development, and capability building.
- Mentoring & Technical Coaching: Provide hands-on mentoring to developers across Salesforce architecture, Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, integrations, data modeling, security, troubleshooting, testing, DevOps, production support, and software-development practices.
- Code & Design Reviews: Review solution designs, Apex code, Lightning Web Components, Flows, configuration, integrations, automated tests, pull requests, deployment packages, and technical documentation. Ensure work delivered by the team meets established standards for security, scalability, maintainability, performance, and quality.
- Team Delivery Accountability: Take responsibility for the technical quality and completeness of work delivered by assigned developers. Monitor progress, identify risks or blockers, provide guidance, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure agreed delivery commitments are met.
- Process Automation: Architect and develop Record-Triggered, Screen, Scheduled, and Auto-Launched Flows, including Flow Orchestration, to automate complex business processes, approvals, and operational workflows.
- Platform Administration and Configuration: Provide senior-level guidance and hands-on support for users, roles, permission structures, page layouts, record types, queues, reports, dashboards, workflows, and other Salesforce platform features required to support business operations.
- Integrations and Data Management: Design, build, maintain, and support secure enterprise integrations, data migrations, ETL processes, bulk-data operations, cleansing, duplicate management, and synchronization activities using Salesforce APIs and approved data and integration tools.
- Data Cloud and Analytics: Support Salesforce Data Cloud use cases, including unified customer profiles, segmentation, activation, customer 360 capabilities, reporting, dashboards, CRM Analytics, and related business-insight solutions.
- Security and Compliance: Implement, review, and maintain Salesforce security and sharing models in accordance with financial-services governance, privacy, audit, and data-protection requirements. Ensure secure development and data-handling practices are consistently followed across the team.
- DevOps and Release Management: Lead and support source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, environment coordination, release planning, rollback strategies, and production releases using Salesforce DX and tools such as Copado, Flosum, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Production Support & Maintenance: Own and coordinate ongoing production support and application-maintenance activities for Salesforce applications, integrations, automations, and related services. Investigate and resolve production incidents, defects, performance issues, data inconsistencies, integration failures, automation errors, and user-reported issues.
- Incident Management & Root-Cause Analysis: Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues, perform structured root-cause analysis, coordinate resolution across development, data, integration, architecture, administration, and business teams, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Application Maintenance & Technical Health: Proactively maintain and improve existing Salesforce applications through defect resolution, refactoring, performance optimization, technical-debt reduction, security updates, configuration cleanup, and retirement of obsolete or redundant components.
- Salesforce Platform Maintenance: Coordinate periodic maintenance activities including Salesforce seasonal-release assessments, regression-impact analysis, sandbox and environment maintenance, certificate and credential renewals, API-version reviews, deprecated-feature remediation, and other platform-health activities.
- Monitoring & Operational Readiness: Improve monitoring, logging, alerting, error handling, operational dashboards, runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, support documentation, and escalation paths to strengthen platform reliability and supportability.
- Release & Post-Production Support: Provide technical leadership during releases, including deployment readiness, production validation, smoke testing, post-release monitoring, defect triage, stabilization, and rollback support when required.
- Data & Integration Support: Monitor and troubleshoot scheduled jobs, batch processes, APIs, middleware integrations, platform events, data synchronization, ETL processes, and bulk-data activities to ensure reliability and data integrity.
- Support Prioritization: Work with product, business, operations, and technology stakeholders to prioritize incidents, production defects, maintenance work, enhancements, and technical debt based on severity, business impact, risk, and delivery capacity.
- Quality Engineering: Establish and reinforce strong development practices covering unit testing, automated testing, test coverage, static analysis, peer review, technical documentation, code quality, maintainability, and production readiness.
- Business & Technical Collaboration: Partner with product managers, business users, operations teams, data stewards, analysts, architects, administrators, and engineers to understand business processes, clarify requirements, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Estimation & Delivery Planning: Contribute to solution estimation, sprint planning, capacity planning, dependency management, technical sequencing, and release planning. Balance feature delivery, production support, maintenance, and technical-debt priorities.
- Knowledge Management: Ensure system dependencies, troubleshooting procedures, recurring issues, known errors, implementation patterns, support runbooks, and technical learnings are documented and shared across the team.
- Engineering Standards & Continuous Improvement: Help define and continuously improve Salesforce development standards, reusable patterns, review practices, documentation, release processes, tooling, support practices, and engineering governance.
- Global Delivery & Collaboration: Participate actively in agile ceremonies, planning, retrospectives, documentation, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing across the GCC and U.S. teams.
- AI-Assisted Engineering: Responsibly use and promote appropriate AI-assisted engineering methods to improve development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, code reviews, and developer productivity while complying with AssetMark's security and governance requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flows, SOQL, SOSL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and declarative Salesforce development.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, governor limits, bulkification, asynchronous processing, data modeling, transaction management, platform performance, and maintainable enterprise solution design.
- Strong ability to make technical design decisions and assess trade-offs related to scalability, maintainability, performance, security, user experience, and business value.
- Expertise in Salesforce security architecture including Profiles, Roles, Permission Sets, Permission Set Groups, Sharing Rules, Field-Level Security, Organization-Wide Defaults, and secure access-control design.
- Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, platform events, middleware, OAuth, batch processing, asynchronous integrations, and near-real-time integration patterns.
- Experience designing, reviewing, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise Salesforce integrations.
- Proficiency with Salesforce reporting, dashboards, CRM Analytics, and business-insight capabilities.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud concepts including unified customer profiles, segmentation, activation, identity resolution, and customer 360 use cases.
- Strong understanding of Data Loader, Workbench, Import Wizard, APIs, and enterprise tools used for large-scale Salesforce data operations.
- Advanced working knowledge of Git-based development, metadata management, branching strategies, sandbox strategies, automated testing, static analysis, Salesforce DX, and deployment practices.
- Ability to establish and enforce coding standards, review standards, testing practices, documentation standards, and production-readiness criteria.
- Ability to balance declarative configuration and custom development based on scalability, maintainability, security, performance, and business value.
- Strong code-review and technical-design-review capabilities, with the ability to identify defects, performance risks, security gaps, architectural concerns, and maintainability issues.
- Strong experience supporting business-critical Salesforce applications in enterprise production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex Apex, Flow, LWC, integration, data, security, configuration, and performance issues.
- Understanding of incident, problem, change, release, and application-maintenance practices in an enterprise technology environment.
- Ability to perform structured root-cause analysis and translate production incidents into corrective actions and long-term engineering improvements.

Qualifications & Experience
- 7–10 years of professional Salesforce development experience in enterprise production environments, with ownership of complex implementations and business-critical applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flows, integrations, data migration, security, automated testing, production support, and application maintenance .
- Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership , including solution design, code reviews, mentoring, delivery oversight, and engineering quality management.
- Experience managing or leading junior and mid-level developers, with responsibility for work allocation, coaching, performance feedback, and delivery quality .
- Practical experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud is strongly preferred; exposure to Data Cloud and customer 360 capabilities is advantageous.
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps and CI/CD , including Git-based development and tools such as Copado, Flosum, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Strong experience with production support, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, defect management, platform maintenance, and technical-debt remediation .
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I & Developer II certifications are strongly preferred; Salesforce Architect, Salesforce Agentforce Specialist and other relevant Salesforce certifications are advantageous.
- Experience working with sensitive or regulated financial data is required; wealth management, asset management, fintech, or related financial-services experience is a plus.

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $135,000-$165,000.
This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
