Product Engineer, Full Stack

We are looking for a PLC Integration Engineer to own the network and control-system layer of Laminar’s customer deployments. This is a hands-on technical role at the intersection of industrial automation, IT/OT networking, and edge software — you will be the person who gets Laminar’s sensors and edge devices online, stable, and talking to Food and Beverage factory control systems. 
You will work directly with customer IT and OT teams to configure networks, commission PLC connections, and troubleshoot integration issues from first install through steady-state operation. When things break, you dig in and fix them. When patterns emerge, you document them, so the next deployment moves faster. 
This role is a launchpad. Engineers who thrive here grow into edge software engineering, senior FDE roles with full account ownership, or go-to-market paths in sales and solutions engineering.

What You Will Do

- Collaborate with data science, backend, forward deployed engineering teams to ideate, collect feedback, prototype and productionize solutions on Insights that address challenges our customers are facing.

- Work with different customer profiles to build Insights functionalities for their personas and ensure end to end delivery and success of features built.

- Work with engineers, FDEs and leadership to identify friction points and build internal products that help FDEs move quickly, achieve customer goals, and understand the Laminar model stack.

- Deliver polished user-facing features with scalable UI components that help increase the interpretability of our ML models, add more observability into the processes running in our customers' factories, and more.

- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code

- Always be on the lookout for how to improve application performance by adopting latest innovations in frontend frameworks, optimizing SQL queries, or refactoring backend API calls.

About You

- 1-4 years of experience working with customer-facing products.

- Strong proficiency in React/Typescript and experience working with modern frontend tooling.

- Familiarity with Python for data visualizations, rapid prototyping

- Strong UX sensibilities and enthusiasm about building features that are performant, intuitive, and polished

- A self-driven, high ownership mentality to first, conceptualize the needs of customers with very different business needs and then, shipping solutions to production.

- An appreciation for simplicity and pragmatism when building software.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative in-person office in Boston.

Our Interview Process
1. Phone screen with Laminar Head of Ops or Recruiter (15-20 minutes)
2. Intro call with Hiring Manager (30 minutes)
3. On-site interview, including short tour of GTL, overview of tech, and interview/presentation with the Hiring Manager and a few team members. Depending on the role, a skills exercise that should take no longer than an hour to prep, would be sent ahead of time. We record your skills exercise to share with any team members who could not join the interview and/or with Founder's ahead of their Founder's Interview. If you are not local, we can conduct this virtually.
4. Finalists for Full-Time positions will have a Founder’s Interview in-person

Two professional references are requested, ideally one from your current organization and one who served as your Manager
If an Offer Letter is extended, a Background check is conducted
