Schedule

Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
Monday – Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Additional requirements:

- Average of 2–3 weekends per year

- 1–2 weeknights per month of on-call coverage

- Participation in a holiday on-call rotation

What You'll Do

- Provide nursing care to hospice patients in homes and healthcare facilities

- Deliver compassionate end-of-life care focused on comfort, dignity and quality of life

- Assess patients physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs

- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans

- Monitor changes in condition and update plan of care

- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning discussions

- Educate and support patients, caregivers and families

- Coordinate care and advocate for patients and families throughout their hospice journey

Qualifications

Required

- Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork

- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn work-related software

- Valid Iowa driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

Preferred

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

- Two years of recent nursing experience, preferably working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team

- Previous hospice, home health, palliative care, or related nursing experience

Physical Requirements

- Ability to move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

- Ability to travel throughout the service area and work in patient homes, healthcare facilities and office settings

- Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, walking and driving throughout the workday

- Pre-employment/post-offer physical, TB, and drug screen required
