The Role

The Real Assets and Private Investment Operations team supports CPP Investments’ global private markets strategy, partnering with investment professionals across Private Equity, Infrastructure, Sustainable Energies, and other private asset classes. The team supports the execution, servicing, accounting, and reporting of complex investment transactions through strong governance, controls, operational excellence, and process innovation.

You will work in a collaborative environment with exposure to private markets, building relationships with internal investment teams and external asset managers while contributing to the continuous improvement of the operational platform.

The Team

Accountabilities

- Input trade tickets and accounting entries accurately, ensuring transacted amounts, supporting documentation, and required authorizations are complete to facilitate investment closings.
- Support the processing of complex transactions and assess implications for accounting, reporting, and performance.
- Complete reports and reconciliations related to portfolio holdings and P&L, identifying issues, supporting corrective action, and escalating irregular activity or concerns.
- Support the quarterly valuation review process and ensure valuation adjustments are accurately recorded.
- Maintain complete and current agreements, related documentation, and process documentation, while monitoring ongoing reporting requirements and resolving discrepancies.
- Build effective working relationships with internal investment teams and external asset managers to support issue resolution, financial controls, and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to operational excellence by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and create efficiencies while effectively prioritizing work to meet deadlines.

What You Bring

- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline, with an interest in pursuing a professional designation such as CFA or CPA.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical, financial, and management accounting skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills, comfort learning new systems, and the ability to leverage AI tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with a high degree of professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performing environment, adapt to evolving priorities, and effectively prioritize work.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable, demonstrating CPP Investments’ Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership, and high performance.
