About the role:
The Extrusion Line Lead is responsible for ensuring that the extrusion line runs efficiently resulting in high-quality products. This role is a key contributor to the team's continuous improvement efforts in achieving monthly production metrics and in safety, quality, sustainability, and production costs.
What you will do:
- Lead and perform machine setups, production, and development runs to hit desired product specifications without direct oversight from supervision.
- Troubleshoot and complete general maintenance of extrusion equipment.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble extruders for cleaning, and/or job changes that require different tooling with a new setup
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) when completing daily tasks.
- Use production travelers and other documentation to identify and confirm raw material accuracy prior to starting manufacturing runs.
- Mix, blend, dry, and transfer raw materials per product specifications.
- Comply and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure all quality documentation is completed correctly.
- Perform inspection of final products to ensure that senior extrusion operators are completing operational reviews in a timely manner.
- Train junior-level extrusion operators and act as the subject matter expert (SME) for all things extrusion.
- Act in a supervisory manner when Extrusion management is not present by leading shift meetings, executing the daily production schedule and assigning job duties to extrusion team.
Who you are:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required
- Seven (7) to Eight (8) years of experience in manufacturing, machine operations, or a cleanroom environment
- Ability to solve mathematical equations that include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of all units of measure
- Effective communication and collaboration amongst co-workers and cross-functional teams.
- Read, interpret, and utilize complex drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in operating hand tools or power equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess a valid state driver's license.
