About this role

**In person, New York City | Compensation: $125K OTE (approx. $85K base + $40K variable), plus meaningful early-stage equity**

**About Us**

AI is forcing the biggest rethink of teaching since the internet reached the classroom, and every school on earth has to make its call within the next few years.

Flint exists to help them get it right. Founded in 2023, we've partnered with 250+ schools across the US and abroad, from some of the world's leading independent schools to large public-school systems.

If we succeed, we'll help shape how thousands of schools adopt AI over the next decade.

**The Role**

Flint works with hundreds of independent and private schools, and we're looking for someone to assist with the front end of that business.

As an Account Associate, you'll be responsible for turning interest from school leaders into qualified opportunities for Flint. Some of that happens on the phone. A lot of it happens through thoughtful emails, LinkedIn, follow-ups, referrals, and figuring out the right person to speak to inside a school.

Our GTM Engineering team handles much of the automated side of outbound: sourcing accounts, enriching data, and building campaigns. You'll take signals of interest and turn them into conversations. You'll work out who matters inside an account, reach them through whatever channel works, understand what they're trying to solve, and get the right opportunities onto our sales team's calendars.

You'll work across a high volume of schools, while keeping outreach specific to the person and account. Private schools are relationship-driven, and we want someone who can move quickly without sounding like everyone else in their inbox.

**What this actually looks like**

The phone will be one of your main channels, alongside email, LinkedIn, and follow-up with people already engaging with Flint.

On any given day, you might call a Head of School who downloaded something from us, follow up with a Director of Technology over email, message an academic leader on LinkedIn, work through a list of schools that attended one of our events, or figure out who actually owns AI strategy at an account.

You'll have a lot of conversations, a lot of follow-up, and inevitably a lot of people who don't reply.

**What you'll do**

* Own human outreach across our SMB and private-school accounts, including phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels.
* Turn inbound interest and outbound engagement into qualified demos with school decision-makers.
* Research accounts and map the people involved in decisions around AI, teaching, technology, and curriculum.
* Follow up thoughtfully until there's a clear yes, no, or next step.
* Run early discovery to understand what a school is trying to solve and whether Flint is a good fit.
* Partner closely with GTM Engineering to improve targeting, messaging, sequences, and account prioritization.
* Tell us what you're hearing: which messages resonate, what objections keep coming up, and which schools and personas convert.
* Keep your pipeline organized and make sure good opportunities don't disappear because nobody followed up.

**Where this goes**

You'll work closely with sales and GTM Engineering, so you'll see how we find, qualify, and eventually close schools.

Do well and there are several directions you can grow: owning larger accounts, becoming a full-cycle Account Executive, opening a new market, or moving toward GTM engineering, growth, or sales ops.

Progression here is based on performance. If you're excellent at the job, we expect the scope of your role to grow quickly.

**What we're looking for**

* 1–3+ years in a customer-facing role where you had a number to hit - sales, business development, fundraising, recruiting, or similar - and a record of hitting it.
* You're comfortable picking up the phone and know how to use email, LinkedIn, and other channels well too.
* You're a strong written communicator. You can write a good cold email and know how to personalize outreach without spending 20 minutes on every account.
* You're persistent and have good judgment about when to push, when to change channels, and when to move on.
* You're organized enough to manage a large number of accounts and follow-ups without letting opportunities fall through the cracks.
* You'd rather figure out what works than blindly run someone else's script.
* Rejection doesn't rattle you.

**Nice to have, but not required**

* Experience selling to independent or private schools.
* Software sales experience.
* Familiarity with HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar tools.
* EdTech experience.

**What we offer**

* Meaningful equity. You're early, and we mean it.
* Health and dental insurance.
* Personal device stipend.
* The chance to help build how Flint sells to independent schools as we grow.
