The Volunteer Transportation Office Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Volunteer Transportation Services Manager with taking requests for rides, verifying eligibility for service, and record-keeping.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Answer phone calls for riders, drivers, and older adults inquiring about transportation services; send messages when necessary.

- Take requests for rides, verify eligibility for services, and complete the ride request form.

- Register new clients and maintain client records.

- Work with volunteers to meet client needs. A solid understanding of volunteer management will be an asset.

- Maintain Excel Schedule.

- Coordinate and facilitate mailings.

- Complete Driver Orientation meetings.

- Maintain a record of ride requests not filled.

- Enter data about trips, riders, and volunteers in the computer database.

- Maintain confidentiality of rider and driver information obtained through program records.

- Assist other office staff with answering the main phone line and greeting guests.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Associate degree and/or three years office experience

- Volunteer experience preferred.

- Valid driver’s license and access to an automobile with insurance coverage.

- Well-organized, detail-oriented

- Good communication and clerical skills

- Knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

- Able to multi-task under pressure. Ability to sit for hours while looking at a computer screen.

- Ability to be warm, non-judgmental, and tactful

Salary Range : $17.00- $18.00 per hour
