Position Summary

The Washer Labor team member is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, machinery, work areas, and processing facilities to maintain a safe, sanitary, and efficient poultry processing operation. This position plays a critical role in supporting food safety, product quality, and compliance with company, USDA, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

- Wash and sanitize poultry processing equipment, machinery, and production areas according to established procedures.
- Operate pressure washers, hoses, foamers, and other sanitation equipment safely and effectively.
- Remove product residue, grease, blood, feathers, and other contaminants from equipment and facility surfaces.
- Mix and apply cleaning chemicals following safety guidelines and sanitation procedures.
- Inspect equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for thorough cleaning.
- Follow all USDA, FDA, OSHA, GMP, HACCP, and Tyson Foods food safety requirements.
- Complete sanitation and cleaning records accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate equipment issues, safety concerns, and sanitation deficiencies to supervisors.
- Assist with additional production, sanitation, or facility cleaning tasks as assigned.
