REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION :

- High School Diploma or GED

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

- AHIMA-CCA (Certified Coding Associate) OR AHIMA-RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) OR AHIMA-RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) OR AHIMA-CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) OR AAPC-CPC (Certified Professional Coder) OR AAPC-CPC-A (Certified Professional Coder Apprentice), AAPC-CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder), AAPPC-COC (Certified Outpatient Coder)

SKILLS:

- Day-to-day work requires: applying ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding for low-complexity outpatient encounters; utilizing coding guidelines and payer rules to ensure accurate and compliant code assignment; reviewing documentation, identifying gaps, and initiating clarification as needed; resolving routine coding edits; and maintaining productivity and accuracy standards within assigned work queues.
