Part-Time Equine & Farm Paraprofessional
Work With Horses, Animals & Youth
We are looking for a Part-Time Equine & Farm Paraprofessional to join our nonprofit program serving at-risk and troubled youth.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working with horses, farm animals, youth, and the outdoors . Our program includes school horses, sheep, goats, miniature horses, chickens, and other animals.
In this role, youll assist with the daily care of the animals and farm while supporting students during equine, small animal, and gardening activities. You may also have the opportunity to assist with instruction under the supervision of the program manager or certified instructor.
A positive attitude, patience, dependability, and willingness to learn are most important.
What Youll Do
- Assist with the daily care of horses and farm animals.
- Help with feeding, watering, grooming, and general animal care.
- Assist with stalls, paddocks, and general farm maintenance.
- Support students during equine and animal-related activities.
- Assist with small animal and gardening activities.
- Support the instructor with classroom and hands-on learning activities.
- Help create a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for youth.
- Follow directions and safety procedures when working with students and animals.
- Work as part of a team to support the daily needs of the program.
What Were Looking For
- Must be 21 years of age or older .
- A genuine interest in horses, animals, and working with youth.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Dependable, patient, and responsible.
- Comfortable working outdoors and around horses and other farm animals.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds .
- Comfortable working in Arizonas outdoor conditions.
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Previous experience with horses, equine programs, farming, education, or youth programs is a plus.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
