Senior CNC Machinist

We are looking for an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Shah Alam, Malaysia , supporting the production of high-precision components for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will independently set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines, interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements, perform precision inspection, and troubleshoot machining and process issues. You will also provide technical guidance to junior machinists and support continuous improvement initiatives. This is a 12-hour day/night shift role, with flexibility to support overtime and weekend work when required.

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines with minimal supervision according to Work Instructions and Tooling Lists.
- Install, set up, and adjust tooling offsets, fixtures, work holding, and machine offsets.
- Meet daily production targets while maintaining consistent part quality.
- Load programs and safely prove out new FAI jobs.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and work with supervisors, CAD/CAM programmers, and Quality Inspectors to resolve problems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Inspect in-process and finished parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to junior CNC machinists and fitters.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines.

Requirements

- Diploma or Certificate in machining, engineering or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of machining experience in CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis.
- Strong CNC setup and operating skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawing and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Experience in high-precision or high-mix/low-volume environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor junior machinists and fitters .
- Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Heidenhain, or similar controls is preferred.
- Able to commit to a 12-hour day/night shift , including weekends, and support overtime when required.
