Engineering Technician

About the Role

Ichor Systems is seeking an Engineering Technician to support our manufacturing operations in Tualatin, OR. In this hands-on role, you will partner with Engineering and Operations to improve manufacturing processes, develop work instructions and fixtures, troubleshoot production issues, and support the introduction of new products.

The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, manufacturing experience, and a continuous improvement mindset.

What You’ll Do

- Create and maintain technical work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
- Support the introduction and release of new products into manufacturing.
- Design, build, and improve manufacturing fixtures and jigs.
- Partner with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement process improvements.
- Operate manufacturing, test, development, and diagnostic equipment.
- Review production data to identify trends, nonconformances, and improvement opportunities.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, SOPs, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Fit, align, and adjust equipment or assemblies to meet required product specifications.
- Identify process or equipment deviations that may impact quality, productivity, or delivery and escalate as appropriate.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and manufacturing performance.
- Follow all safety, PPE, quality, and cleanroom requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, Welding Technology, or a related technical field and 2+ years of relevant manufacturing or engineering technician experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, engineering, machining, welding, or similar technical environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience operating manufacturing, test, or diagnostic equipment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Engineering and Operations teams.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision while following established procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders or stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience writing technical documentation
- Experience in semiconductor, high-purity gas delivery, or other precision manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in a Class 100 or similar cleanroom environment.
- Familiarity with CAD drawings and configuration or document management systems.
- Experience with ERP systems; Oracle Cloud experience is a plus.
- Experience applying engineering technology principles to manufacturing processes.
- Experience developing fixtures, jigs, or other manufacturing tooling.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a manufacturing environment and may include time in a cleanroom. The role may involve exposure to manufacturing noise, equipment, and temperature variations. Required PPE may include safety footwear, gloves, uniforms, hair or head coverings, face shields, and other protective equipment based on the work area.
