Senior Legal Counsel - Master Trust

Join Insignia Financial's Legal team and play a pivotal role in supporting our superannuation and investment business. Reporting to the Head of Legal, Retail Master Trust & Employer Products, you'll provide strategic and commercially focused legal advice to senior leaders, Trustee Boards, and key stakeholders while helping protect the interests of members and beneficiaries.

About the Role

As a trusted legal advisor, you will:

- Provide practical, timely legal advice on strategic business initiatives and commercial matters.

- Support the Trustee and business stakeholders on superannuation, investment, and regulatory obligations.

- Advise on product design, disclosure requirements, member complaints, AFCA matters, and trust-related issues.

- Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements and transactions.

- Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments impacting superannuation and financial services.

- Assist in ensuring the Trustee acts in members' best financial interests and complies with evolving legal requirements.

- Manage external legal providers and oversee legal costs and value-add initiatives.

You'll bring:

- A Law Degree and current Legal Practising Certificate.

- 10+ years' post-qualification legal experience.

- Deep expertise in superannuation law and the Australian regulatory landscape.

- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to deliver practical, business-focused solutions.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

- Outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities.

- A strategic mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.

- Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading legal professionals.
