Refugee Family Services Navigator

Are you passionate about supporting families, early childhood development, and helping communities navigate complex systems ? As a Refugee Family Services Navigator with Community-Minded Enterprises (CME) , you’ll work with refugee and other eligible families with children from birth through age five to connect them with early learning opportunities, developmental resources, child care, and community supports.

In this role, you’ll build trusted relationships with families, help identify their goals and needs, and provide individualized navigation and follow-up. You’ll also help families understand their child’s development, access early learning and school-readiness opportunities, and connect with resources that support the entire family.

What You’ll Do

- Build supportive, culturally responsive relationships with refugee and other eligible families and help them navigate available services and resources.

- Work with families to develop individualized Family Navigation Plans based on their strengths, priorities, developmental goals, and needs.

- Support developmental screening using tools such as ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2 and connect families with appropriate developmental, healthcare, early intervention, and community resources.

- Help families access child care and early learning opportunities , including ECEAP, Head Start, Early Head Start, preschool, licensed child care, and applicable child care subsidies.

- Support families as their children transition into kindergarten by helping them understand enrollment, school readiness, expectations, and available supports.

- Facilitate or support Play & Learn groups and parent education workshops focused on child development, positive parenting, school readiness, and navigating early learning systems.

- Provide families with individualized early learning activities, books, materials, and resources that support children's development at home.

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, referrals, screenings, family goals, and follow-up.

- Collaborate with CME staff, community partners, early learning providers, schools, healthcare providers, and refugee-serving organizations to coordinate services and strengthen referral pathways.

What We’re Looking For

- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, with an emphasis in social services, early learning, family support, or a related field.

- Two to five years of related experience in family navigation, case management, family support, early learning, refugee/immigrant services, social services, or similar direct-service work preferred.

- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse families and young children strongly preferred.

- Experience with developmental screening, early childhood systems, community referrals, or family-centered service planning preferred; training may be provided for program-specific tools and processes.

- Bilingual or multilingual skills are strongly preferred, particularly Dari, Pashto, Farsi, Arabic, Russian, or Ukrainian , as well as other languages represented in the communities served.

- Strong relationship-building, communication, organization, problem-solving, and community-resource navigation skills.

- Ability to manage a direct-service caseload, meet documentation deadlines, and work independently with supervision.
