Job Purpose:

To assist company in achieving its production targets by ensuring that product meets the company and customer quality and food safety specifications. This is done by sampling, measurement, analysis and verifying that product meets the predetermined standard online.

Roles and responsibilities:

- Raw materials receiving Inspection and Testing: Inspect incoming raw materials for conformity to specifications. Arrange/coordinate testing of raw materials to check compliance to specifications/standards. Record and report non-conformances to management, production. Communicate effectively and assist with resolving and escalating non-conformances to relevant stakeholders.
- Documentation : Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests and quality control measures. Generate and update quality reports for management. Keep stock reports updated and assist with management of FIFO/FEFO
- Compliance : Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and quality compliance. Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
- Capturing weekly age analysis
- Assist with food safety training sessions with team members.
- Ensure that short dated and expired stock gets communicated to the factory.
- Ensure that damaged and expired stock get moved into quarantine and transfer documents gets given to the VC clerk.
- Participating in food safety audits, traceability and mass balance exercises.
- Ensuring that all files are up to date
- Ensuring that all COA are filed and in the correct files.
- Ensuring that outbound and inbound documents are scanned to date folder daily on the system.
- Ensuring that all incoming / outgoing trucks are inspected and in good condition before offloading and loading of stock can take place.
- Managing quarantine location and assist with a weekly report and month end stock counts in quarantine location.
- Assisting with disposing of quarantine location stock and blue note stock.

Experience and qualification:

- 2-3 years’ experience working in confectionery (FMCG)
- Previous experience in quality control role and preferably in a warehouse.
- Familiarity with raw materials used in confectionary industry.
- Grade 12 and Basic literacy and numeracy
- Food Safety intermediate course (Skills Programme NQF level 4)

- Ability to collaborate with other role players.
- Awareness to safety protocols related to working in a warehouse and handling raw materials
