# The Opportunity
Dash Technologies is seeking an experienced Manual Software Tester / QA Engineer to support software testing and quality assurance for a Medical Device Software product being built from scratch. You will be responsible for developing and executing test cases, identifying and tracking defects, supporting verification and validation activities, and ensuring high-quality software releases. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused primarily on manual testing. Experience with test automation is desirable but optional .
# What You’ll Do

Manual Software Testing

- Develop, review, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, test scripts, and test data.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.
- Analyze requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge cases.
- Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution using bug-tracking tools.
- Perform retesting and regression testing after defect fixes and software changes.
- Review test results and provide clear testing status and release-readiness updates.
- Validate software functionality across different environments, configurations, and supported platforms.
- Participate in release testing and ensure identified issues are appropriately addressed before release.

Requirements and Test Coverage

- Review business, functional, and technical requirements to ensure they are testable and clearly understood.
- Identify gaps, ambiguities, dependencies, and potential risks in requirements.
- Define acceptance criteria and contribute to backlog refinement.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and test results where required.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to clarify expected behavior and acceptance criteria.

Quality Assurance

- Contribute to test planning and overall QA strategy for the product.
- Maintain organized and accurate testing documentation and records.
- Ensure testing activities are performed consistently across development cycles.
- Participate in defect triage, root cause discussions, and quality reviews.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, blockers, and quality concerns to relevant stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement of testing processes and practices.

Agile Testing

- Work closely with Agile development teams throughout the sprint lifecycle.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Perform testing within development sprints rather than only at the end of the development cycle.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce, investigate, and resolve defects.
- Ensure acceptance criteria are adequately covered before stories are considered complete.
- Support appropriate quality gates before software releases.

Test Automation — Optional

- Experience with test automation is an advantage but is not mandatory .
- Contribute to identifying suitable test cases for automation.
- Work with automation engineers or developers to improve automated test coverage.
- Basic experience with automation tools or frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar is desirable.
- Familiarity with CI/CD-based automated testing is a plus.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with product managers and business analysts to understand requirements and expected outcomes.
- Work closely with software developers to investigate and resolve defects.
- Collaborate with other QA team members to improve test coverage and testing practices.
- Communicate testing status, defects, risks, and blockers clearly to project stakeholders.
- Participate in product demonstrations and reviews to understand new functionality.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- Strong hands-on experience in manual software testing .
- Experience developing and executing test cases, test scenarios, test scripts, and test plans.
- Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing.
- Strong understanding of software testing concepts and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience with test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, QATouch, or similar platforms.

Bonus Points

- Experience testing Medical Device Software, Healthcare Software, or MedTech products .
- Experience working on products developed from scratch.
- Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, APIs, or integrated systems.
- Basic knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
- Basic SQL/database testing experience.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
- Experience with performance, usability, compatibility, or security testing.
- Experience working in a startup or new product development environment.
- Experience with Medical IoT or connected healthcare applications.
