Electrical BIM Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Technician to support our electrical and multidisciplinary engineering teams by delivering high-quality electrical drafting, documentation, and BIM modelling across a range of sectors including health, education, commercial, civic, urban, and recreational projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with Electrical Engineers, Designers, and other technical specialists to produce accurate drawings, coordinated BIM models, and high-quality project documentation. This role plays an important part in ensuring efficient project delivery, technical quality, and continuous improvement of drafting and modelling practices across the business.

Job Details

- Work Setup:
Work-from-home (Candidates must be willing to visit Sourcefit’s Manila office for training, meetings, and team activities when required.)
- Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Philippine Time (Must be comfortable working with Australian time zones and adjusting working hours when needed)
- Holidays: To be confirmed

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, plans, and BIM models for electrical building services and installations.
- Support Electrical Engineers, Designers, and Technologists in the design development and layout of electrical building services.
- Coordinate electrical drawings and models with other disciplines and architectural models.
- Review and incorporate design updates, mark-ups, and technical instructions into project documentation.
- Contribute to national drafting and BIM standards, templates and workflows under the guidance of senior technical leads.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams to deliver accurate and efficient project outcomes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance drafting and modelling practices.
- Provide technical support across projects while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Requirements

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical building services modelling and drafting.
- Strong proficiency in Revit (Revit MEP experience highly preferred) and experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience preparing electrical drawings, plans, and BIM models for building services projects.
- Good understanding of electrical services design, documentation, model coordination, and clash detection.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality documentation.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Willingness to learn, contribute to process improvements, and support team objectives.

Preferred Experience

- Experience supporting the Australian building services consulting market (advantageous but not required).
- Exposure to BIM management, coordination, workflows or quality assurance.
- Experience with mechanical and/or hydraulic services modelling.
- Experience using Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revitzo or similar platforms
- Exposure to BIM coordination, quality assurance processes, or relevant technical certifications.
