Job Scope

The Instrument Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of all process instrumentation and measurement systems throughout the manufacturing facility. The technician serves as the technical expert for process control instrumentation, analytical equipment, and measurement devices, ensuring regulatory compliance and optimal process control. They act as the primary resource for instrumentation troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement of measurement systems, guaranteeing that all critical process parameters are accurately monitored and controlled to maintain product quality and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

- Assure safe conditions through defined procedures (including Lock out tag out – LOTO) during equipment repairs, cleaning, or inspections.
- Perform risk analysis and participate in risk assessments according to established routines.
- Work under the defined shift model to ensure customer demand is met in the assigned production time.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production line issues (mechanical, electrical, automation, process) and completing validation runs of production to confirm the effectiveness of work.
- Support production teams with first-line problem solving, process optimization, equipment setup and escalation of unresolved technical issues.
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on production equipment (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment, wiring, and systems (mechanical assemblies, electrical systems).
- Inspect equipment for wear, vibrations, lubrication, or electrical faults and escalate to one level above the need for repair if necessary.
- Define and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability.
- Read and update technical documentation including (but not limited to): diagrams, blueprints, troubleshooting guidelines, checklists and work instructions.
- Train newly onboarded team members and colleagues in technical and safety procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on safety, reliability, quality, maintainability and production efficiency.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Follow all currently implemented work instructions and standard operating procedures for repairs, troubleshooting, and escalation.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the machine, product, and process.
- Perform equipment and instrumentation commissioning, startup verification, calibration verification and validation runs following maintenance or modification activities.
- Participate in structured root cause analysis activities for equipment failures, process deviations and quality issues.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering and Maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and improve operational performance.
- Ensure equipment readiness and availability prior to production startup through inspections, calibration checks and preventive maintenance activities.
- Complete supplementary tasks as seen fit by management to effectively utilize time and resource for the benefit of the business, including but not limited to running the line, completing 5S, cleaning activities & quality sampling.

## Requirements
Educational background and previous experience required for the role Qualifications and Experience Technical/industrial background in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, Control Systems, or related field. 3+ years previous experience from the manufacturing or processing industry (e.g., battery, pulp and paper, food, chemicals, microelectronics, oil & gas, pharmaceutical processing). Vocational education within Instrumentation Technology, Industrial/Electrical Gymnasium, or equivalent. Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification or equivalent is a plus. Six Sigma White or Yellow Belt certification is also advantageous. Experience with calibration management software (EG:Beamx) and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Experience troubleshooting transmitters, analyzers, control valves, flow meters, pressure sensors, and temperature devices. Experienced in continuous improvement and root cause analysis.  ">  ">undefined Specific skills & Knowledge Proficiency with precision test equipment including multimeters, calibrators, pressure standards, temperature baths, and signal generators. Knowledge of ISO 17025 calibration standards and regulatory compliance requirements. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument data sheets, and manufacturer manuals. Basic IT literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with calibration databases or LIMS systems. Understanding of process control principles, loop tuning, and instrumentation optimization for efficient manufacturing operations. Administrative competence, including experience with ERP systems, work orders and incident reporting. Troubleshooting skills with diagnostic equipment. Ability to document technical problems concisely. Excellent English skills, both written and oral, are essential. Basic Swedish and other language skills are a plus. You should have good communication skills and be able to work in close collaboration with colleagues from many different teams. This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor in physically demanding environments. This can include 100% working hours allocation into clean-rooms and dry-rooms, while wearing appropriate PPE. The role also requires working shifts and working in multiple process areas, according to business needs.
