About the team:

Our Slovak team at PwC Advisory s.r.o., mainly based in Bratislava, works closely with PwC Germany as a nearshore consulting team supporting transformation projects in the financial services sector. We bring together strong German language capabilities, consulting skills, and understanding of banking, insurance and other FS domains.

We have been fully & seamlessly integrated with PwC Germany but you will also be part of the Slovak technology consulting team and will have the opportunity to be involved in activities in both countries.

As a Senior Payment Consultant - Technology Consulting (German Projects), you will work on transformational projects for clients in the financial sector, especially banks, insurance companies, and investment firms in Germany.

Job description & summary

As a Senior Payment Consultant, you will participate in international consulting projects focused on payments and digital financial solutions for clients primarily in Germany. The role combines business analysis, basic technology understanding, and strong communication skills to contribute to the design and delivery of technology‑enabled solutions in the financial services sector. You will work closely with business and IT stakeholders on transformation initiatives for banks, insurance companies, and investment firms, gaining exposure to modern payment platforms, digital finance, and system integrations in a dynamic consulting environment.

Imagine working on projects like:

- Preparing New Pan-European Solutions  – You analyze how regulation and new technology will transform banking operations. You structure, design, and consult with clients on final solutions. Within months or years, you'll see the results of your work rolled out across Europe.
- Open Finance and API Integration  – You design solutions enabling third parties secure access to financial data. You're part of the shift that moves institutions to a new level of working with customer data and launching innovative products born from this data analysis.

Requirements of the Role

- Completed university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a comparable field; candidates with an interdisciplinary background (e.g. business combined with technology, digital transformation, payments, or financial services) are also welcome
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in financial services, consulting, banking, payments, fintech, or a related financial environment
- Good understanding of, or strong interest in, digital financial services and technology-enabled business transformation, including payments, digital banking, APIs, system integrations, automation, and data-driven processes.
- Ability to structure, analyze, and clearly communicate complex financial and technical topics
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate in international and cross‑functional teams
- Confidence in working with stakeholders across business, finance, and IT
- Confident use of common collaboration and productivity tools (e.g. MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Experience using German at B2-C1 level and English at C1 level in a professional environment
- Proactive, reliable, and structured working style with willingness to take ownership and continuously develop professionally
- Desired qualifications: experience or knowledge in payments, open finance, embedded finance, transaction banking, digital banking, fintech platforms, financial services regulation or compliance, or project work for banks, fintechs, or large enterprise clients
- Strong learning mindset and willingness to continuously develop professional and consulting skills.
- Proactive approach to using AI-powered tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Power BI, etc.) and digital technologies to improve efficiency, support informed decision-making, solve complex problems, and embrace continuous learning in a rapidly evolving workplace

Wage (gross): From 2 000 EUR /monthly
(The stated salary represents the minimum for this position. Final compensation is determined individually based on your experience, expertise, seniority, and overall profile. In addition, we offer a performance-based bonus linked to individual results and the company’s success.)
