The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking an Operating System Deployment Engineer to be responsible for managing the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Windows and Windows Server images for EIT services across 187 bases to implement a consistent, high-quality experience for users across all mission environments, and enable USAF to transition focus from network operations to mission operations.

Responsibilities:

The Operating System Deployment Engineer will support our DoD customer to implement an enterprise IT service delivery model that provides consistent, secure, high-quality, and cost-effective services to enable mission success and improve end user experience across the customer environment.

This role will support the design, configuration, management, deployment process automation, and troubleshooting performance issues across the organization of Windows and Windows Server operating system images. The Operating System Deployment Engineer would be responsible for both physical and virtual servers and workstations, as well as the associated networking, storage, and security.

What you’ll get to do:

- Support the design, including software configuration, of the management of the images, tool integration, and deployment of both physical and virtual server images.

- Design with a holistic view of the enterprise to ensure cost, performance, networking, storage, and security are considered

- Develop automation scripts to enhance the delivery, security, and performance of operating systems

- Troubleshooting performance issues across the organization

- Support both Windows and Windows Server OSs

- Provide tier 3/4 support to system administrators as needed
- Provide guidance on optimization of operating systems for platform interoperability and integration of technologies.

Qualifications:

Required:

- US Citizenship required
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain
- 10+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).

- A proven track record designing implementing and maintaining operating system images and their deployment methods in a large enterprise.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,

- Must have experience and understanding in the following areas:

- Systems administration in Linux environments (RHCE equivalence) or Windows Server environments (MS Security Engineer/Solution Architect equivalence).

- Integrating, securing, and understanding the following Microsoft platform services (both in Windows OS and in Azure Cloud):  Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Windows AD-integrated PKI, Single Sign On (SSO) implementation

- Application/package management and operating system deployment/configuration management with technologies such as Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM), Intune, and Autopilot

- Customer interactions, including presenting, answering questions, proactively resolving issues

- VMWare (implementing, managing, configuring)

- Securing systems by following STIGs, best practices, and government/compliance requirements (such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-27, NIST 800-137, FISMA, FEDRAMP), and negotiating/working-with IA personnel to arrive at sensible and effective solutions

- Log management, network firewalls, and testing

- Enhance data protection and compliance (such as OpenSSL, Keystores, Azure Key Vault, Cyphers)

- Agile/Kanban, Git/GitHub

- Configuring and STIG/JSIG of Windows 11, Windows Server 2022/2025

- Hyper-V/SCVMM

Desired:

- Experience with ServiceNow, DevOps, Azure Boards, Azure Pipelines and Azure Repos
- Experience creating and analyzing PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, JAVA based, YAML and/or Python scripts
- Relevant Technical and/or Security Certifications (e.g., Network +, Security+, Microsoft, AWS, VMware, CISSP, CCNA, CCDA, CCNA-Security, etc.)
- One (1) of the following certifications: Azure DevOps Engineering Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate
- Experience with Azure Cloud Computing
- Experience with any or all of these products or technologies:  MS SQL, Red Hat Satellite, Nagios, McAfee ePO, Tanium, IPSEC, ForeScout, CyberArk, Layer7 PAM, SailPoint, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Splunk, AMQP (RabbitMQ), Nessus suit, Swimlane, Qualys, SCCM, BigFix, MDM solutions, JIRA (again, nice to have, not required)

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$75,200-$158,100
