Mott MacDonald is seeking a Consultant to support the delivery of infrastructure advisory services for public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will work on complex strategic advisory mandates across the infrastructure lifecycle, from project inception and investment planning through procurement, delivery, operational readiness and asset management. Assignments may include business case development and economic analysis, strategic planning, procurement and commercial advisory, alternative delivery model assessment, due diligence, governance and assurance, risk management, and operational readiness.

The role requires strong analytical, problem-solving and project management capability, together with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate clear, evidence-based advice to clients and senior decision-makers. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities and contribute to high-quality client outcomes. Responsibilities will involve:

- Support advisory assignments for public and private sector clients across the planning, development, procurement, delivery and operational phases of infrastructure programs and projects

- Support structured decision-making, needs and options analysis, business case development, economic analysis, and investment planning, producing clear and defensible recommendations

- Support the development of procurement and commercial strategies, including assessment of conventional and alternative delivery models such as P3, CMGC and progressive design-build

- Develop workplans, coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, manage assigned deliverables and monitor scope, schedule, budget, quality and risks
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, synthesize findings, and prepare high-quality reports, presentations, briefing materials and other client deliverables

- Support client meetings, interviews and workshops, translating complex technical, commercial and stakeholder inputs into practical actions and decisions

- Support governance, assurance, risk management, due diligence, asset management and operational readiness activities, as relevant to each assignment

- Coordinate and collaborate with technical, commercial, and other specialist disciplines across regional and global teams

- Support project commercial management, including budget monitoring, forecasting, change control, invoicing and performance reporting

- Contribute to business development through market and client research, opportunity identification, proposal development, scope definition, resourcing and work planning

- Build trusted client relationships and contribute to account development, knowledge sharing, service development and continuous improvement across the Advisory practice

Candidate Specification:

The successful candidate will have:

- A post-secondary degree in engineering, planning, economics, business, public policy or another relevant discipline

- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience

- Experience supporting and/or delivering advisory, consulting, planning, development or management services for infrastructure programs and projects

- Demonstrated experience in one or more infrastructure sectors, such as transportation, energy, water, health, social infrastructure or urban development

- Experience in one or more advisory service areas, such as strategic planning, business cases and economic analysis, procurement and commercial advisory, governance and assurance, risk management, asset management or operational readiness

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess evidence, identify key issues and translate complex information into practical recommendations

- Project management capability, including planning work, coordinating multidisciplinary contributors, managing competing priorities and delivering to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements

- Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills, with experience preparing high-quality reports, presentations and client materials

- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, with the confidence to support client meetings and workshops and build effective working relationships

- A collaborative, adaptable and self-directed approach, with sound judgement and a commitment to strong client outcomes

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Knowledge of the Canadian infrastructure and public-sector environment is desirable.

- Experience with alternative delivery models, project finance, change management, or major project delivery preferred

- Relevant professional credentials in project management, engineering, planning, asset management or a related discipline

- Experience using analytical or project management tools

Benefits & Rewards

The expected salary range for this position is from $83,000 - $102,000.

Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience, and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
