IT Desktop Support Specialist I - Job Overview
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-4PM)
As a Desktop Support Specialist I, you’ll help ensure Legacy Community Health Services’ end users have the reliable, responsive IT support they need to provide excellent patient care. Your technical expertise, patience, and commitment to customer service will help keep teams connected, productive, and focused on the communities they serve.

From troubleshooting hardware and software to guiding team members through Microsoft Office tools, your work will create meaningful impact throughout the organization.
- Provide hands-on technical assistance to end users throughout Legacy Community Health Services.
- Help facilitate efficient patient care through dependable technology and responsive IT support.
- Work closely with IT colleagues, supervisors, leads, customers, and teams across the organization.
- Contribute to process improvements, technical documentation, and consistent desktop operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Document all requests for IT support services in the ticketing system.
- Respond to all ticketed internal IT and customer requests, escalating when required.
- Monitor the status of pending support requests and obtain follow-up information from IT supervisors/leads and/or end users.
- Act as the MS Office specialist by assisting and instructing staff in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Produce ad hoc reports as needed.
- Facilitate copier, printer, and fax requests while meeting business and budgetary constraints.
- Identify manual processes in the desktop environment that can be automated for enforcement or uniformity.
- Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions.
- Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems.
- Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional.
- Create and move Active Directory objects and user accounts.
- Perform disk imaging via WDS.
- Conduct remote troubleshooting.
- Help create procedures, processes, technical documentation, and manuals.
- Collaborate on solutions with other team members and customers across the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Years of Experience
- One year of related experience
Desirable Education and/or Experience
- Associate’s degree preferred. CompTIA A+ certification highly desired.
- Two (2) years’ experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
- Customer service experience
- Must be able to manage multiple deadline and decision making responsibilities. (Mgr. Only)
- Must have valid Texas Driver’s License and clean driving record as responsible to drive to all locations
- Hands-on Windows PC Computer experience for both hardware and operating system functions
- Demonstrated software proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Past history of using an electronic ticketing system
- Experience with remote administration tools
- Some skills in a scripting language.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to write documentation for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and team members.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
- Experience working with computer hardware and software applications, highly preferred
