About this role
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hot Cells Manager to provide leadership and operational oversight for SRNL’s Shielded Cells Operations. The successful candidate will ensure safe, compliant, and mission-focused execution of radiological operations, remote handling activities, equipment maintenance, and facility readiness. This position plays a critical role in supporting SRNL programmatic work by maintaining high-reliability hot cell capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, or a related technical discipline and 10 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant years of experience will be reviewed in lieu of Bachelor's degree if applicable.
- Significant experience in nuclear facility operations, radiological environments, or hot cell systems.
- Working knowledge of DOE Orders, nuclear safety requirements, radiological controls, Conduct of Operations, and Work Planning & Control.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in managing technical staff or complex operational facilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to balance mission execution, regulatory compliance, and safety expectations.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree preferred
- Experience managing hot cell or remote-handling systems in a DOE or nuclear industry environment.
- Knowledge of SRNL processes, institutional programs, and operational expectations.
- Experience in readiness activities, assessments, or nuclear facility oversight.
