About this role
We are supporting a global Tier 1 automotive supplier in the search for a Commodity Buyer (Plastics) to join its organization in Querétaro. This is a cradle-to-grave purchasing role, with full ownership of the commodity lifecycle: from sourcing and business award, through projects, serial production, service, and end-of-life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the assigned plastcs / resins commodity end-to-end, from sourcing through serial production, service, and phase-out.
- Execute the commodity strategy aligned with cost reduction, localization dual sourcing strategies.
- Manage supplier negotiations.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Planning and Finance teams.
- Monitor market trends, conduct benchmarking, and ensure competitive global pricing.
- Participate in new projects and material changes.
Job Offer:

Profile Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing within automotive or commercial vehicle environments.
- Proven background in resins / plastics commodities.
- Savings through negotiations and VA/VE initiatives.
- Experience working in global, matrixed, and multicultural environments.
- Advanced business-level English.
- Experience with SAP.
