About Our Family

We’re a busy, creative household settled on a quiet property in the Hudson Valley— wide open land, fresh air, and a whole lot of life happening under one roof. Our family moves at a lively, free-flowing pace: one parent works in a fast-moving creative industry with a schedule that can change week to week, while the other is a working artist who needs uninterrupted stretches of time to focus and create. We have two children—an elementary-schooler and a toddler—who fill our home with energy, joy, and the occasional mess, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

More than anything, we want to be able to be fully present with our family and our work, which means having someone we trust to take ownership of the day-to-day household rhythm. This role is centered around helping keep the home running smoothly — resetting spaces, staying on top of laundry, helping with meal prep, organizing, and noticing what needs to be done before it becomes a problem. We’re looking for someone who enjoys creating order within a busy household and takes pride in making life easier for the family as a whole.

While the role is primarily focused on household support, we also want someone who is comfortable jumping in with the kids when that is simply part of the flow of the day. Flexibility matters to us, and we value someone who can move naturally between responsibilities without feeling overly tied to a rigid checklist.

We’re not looking for someone to tiptoe around us. We want someone who feels at home here, who jumps in, and who genuinely cares about the quality of life we’re building together. We’re a warm household, but a real one — we give honest feedback and we expect the same in return.

We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with our family, learn our rhythms, and evolve alongside us as our needs change over time. The right person will become an important part of how our household functions and will have the opportunity to shape the role as the family grows. The goal at the end of every day is to have created more space for us to be present with one another.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are warm, joyful, and deeply capable — someone who becomes a trusted extension of our family rather than simply someone who works in our home. You bring a professional energy to the role while still being personable, approachable, and comfortable becoming part of the rhythm of family life.

You think ahead. You notice what needs to happen before anyone asks. You have the hands-on energy to get things done and the administrative mindset to track, organize, plan, and keep details from slipping through the cracks.

You are confident making judgment calls independently and do not need constant direction or hand-holding. At the same time, you communicate clearly and proactively, especially during the first few weeks while everyone is learning how to work together. You are comfortable receiving direct feedback, asking thoughtful questions, and adjusting quickly when priorities shift.

Because of our location, you are also comfortable spending a meaningful amount of time in the car as part of the role. Errands, household needs, and family logistics may require regular driving, so reliable transportation and confidence behind the wheel are essential.

You are flexible from week to week and understand that no two days in a busy household will look exactly the same. You are willing to jump in where needed, take ownership of your responsibilities, and approach the role with consistency, discretion, and good judgment.

Most importantly, you are genuinely interested in growing into a long-term position. You see household management as professional, meaningful work and are looking for a role where you can build trust, take on greater responsibility over time, and evolve alongside our family.
