POSITION SUMMARY
The SFDC Architect will be responsible for defining, designing, and governing scalable Salesforce solutions that enable Actylis to improve commercial effectiveness, operational visibility, user adoption, and data-driven decision-making. This role serves as the senior Salesforce technical and solution architecture authority, translating business priorities into secure, sustainable, and high-performing platform capabilities across Sales Cloud, related commercial technologies, integrations, reporting, and enterprise data flows.
This individual will partner closely with Sales Operations, Commercial Leadership, IT, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, and external implementation partners to establish architectural standards, evaluate solution options, guide delivery teams, and ensure Salesforce capabilities align with Actylis’s global growth strategy. The SFDC Architect will balance strategic platform vision with practical execution, ensuring solutions are user-centered, process-aligned, technically sound, and maintainable over time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Salesforce Architecture, Strategy & Roadmap
o Own the end-to-end Salesforce solution architecture for Actylis’s commercial platform, ensuring alignment with business strategy, enterprise architecture, security standards, and long-term scalability.
o Translate complex business requirements into practical, well-architected Salesforce solutions that balance user experience, business value, technical feasibility, platform limits, and supportability.
o Develop and maintain the Salesforce architectural roadmap, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce technical debt, improve adoption, and strengthen global commercial capabilities.
o Evaluate current-state processes, system configuration, data structures, automation, and integrations to recommend future-state improvements and phased implementation plans.
• Solution Design & Delivery Leadership
o Lead the design of scalable Salesforce capabilities across core commercial processes, including account and contact management, opportunity management, pipeline visibility, quoting or CPQ-enabled workflows, forecasting support, activity management, and reporting.
o Create and review solution designs, technical specifications, data models, integration patterns, prototypes, and implementation plans to ensure solutions are built correctly the first time.
o Provide technical guidance to Salesforce administrators, developers, business analysts, consultants, and implementation partners throughout design, build, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
o Lead architecture review sessions, design walkthroughs, and decision forums to align stakeholders on trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and recommended approaches.
• Data Architecture, Governance & Reporting
o Design and govern Salesforce data models, object relationships, data ownership rules, master data concepts, sharing models, and data quality standards that support reliable commercial decision-making.
o Partner with business and IT teams to improve data integrity, standardization, deduplication, enrichment, migration, archival, and lifecycle management practices.
o Support the development of dashboards, reports, and analytics structures that provide accurate visibility into sales performance, pipeline health, customer engagement, and operational effectiveness.
o Ensure data architecture supports both day-to-day user workflows and broader enterprise reporting, integration, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Integration, Security & Platform Governance
o Define and oversee Salesforce integration strategies with ERP, marketing automation, customer service tools, data platforms, middleware, third-party applications, and other enterprise systems.
o Establish best practices for APIs, middleware, data synchronization, error handling, integration monitoring, and system performance across connected platforms.
o Ensure Salesforce solutions are designed with appropriate security, access controls, role hierarchy, sharing rules, field-level security, auditability, privacy considerations, and compliance requirements.
o Govern development standards for configuration, automation, custom development, testing, release management, documentation, and environment strategy.
• Stakeholder Partnership & Change Enablement
o Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales Operations, Commercial Leadership, IT, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, and regional business teams on Salesforce capabilities, limitations, priorities, and implementation options.
o Facilitate requirements workshops, discovery sessions, process reviews, and design discussions to ensure solutions address the right business problems and drive measurable outcomes.
o Partner with enablement and operations teams to support user adoption through clear process design, documentation, training input, release communications, and change management planning.
o Communicate technical concepts in clear business language, helping stakeholders understand architectural decisions, risks, dependencies, and expected business impact.
• Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
o Monitor platform health, adoption trends, release impacts, performance considerations, and recurring support issues to identify opportunities for improvement.
o Stay current on Salesforce platform releases, architectural guidance, emerging CRM capabilities, AppExchange solutions, automation options, and AI-enabled commercial technologies.
o Support prioritization of Salesforce enhancements by assessing value, complexity, risk, sequencing, dependencies, and alignment to commercial strategy.
o Maintain clear architecture documentation, decision records, solution diagrams, standards, and governance artifacts to support long-term platform sustainability.
o Perform other duties and support additional Sales Operations, Commercial Technology, and Salesforce platform initiatives as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of experience working with Salesforce platforms, including solution architecture, technical architecture, Salesforce administration, business systems, CRM delivery, or related commercial technology roles.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, enhancing, or governing Salesforce solutions in a complex business environment.
• Demonstrated experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud; experience with Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, or related commercial technologies is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead Salesforce solution design from discovery through deployment, including requirements analysis, process design, data modeling, integration design, testing support, release planning, and post-deployment stabilization.
• Experience partnering with global, cross-functional stakeholders and translating business needs into sustainable technical solutions.
• Experience in Life Sciences, specialty chemicals, ingredients, distribution, manufacturing, or other regulated B2B environments is preferred.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC.:
• Deep understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, architecture patterns, declarative configuration, automation, custom development concepts, reporting, security, sharing, and release management.
• Strong knowledge of CRM processes across sales, account management, customer engagement, pipeline management, forecasting, reporting, and commercial operations.
• Ability to design scalable data models, integration patterns, automation strategies, and governance standards that reduce complexity and support long-term platform health.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate options, communicate trade-offs, and recommend practical solutions.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills; able to influence effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong project leadership and prioritization skills in a fast-paced, global environment with competing business needs.
• Salesforce certifications preferred, such as Salesforce Certified Administrator, Platform App Builder, Sales Cloud Consultant, CPQ Specialist, Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, or related architect-level credentials.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery practices, DevOps concepts, user acceptance testing, change management, and production release governance.
• Ability to operate as a hands-on strategic partner who can move fluidly between executive-level architecture discussions and detailed solution design decisions.
