About this role

Position Purpose:

The primary function of a Dispatcher is to direct and coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials to customers in the day-to-day operations. The Dispatcher adheres to and promotes corporate policies and manages the general use of equipment, trucks, delivery personnel and materials. This employee directs all activities that concern delivery, warehouse and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leads the internal dispatch team in coordinating job schedules and delivery schedules
- Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
- Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements and enforces adherence to requirements
- Completes warehouse/delivery requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
- Communicate with customers, drivers, vendors, and internal departments to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Respond promptly to schedule changes, delays, emergencies, and other operational challenges.
- Maintain accurate dispatch logs, delivery records, service documentation, and transportation reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and applicable transportation requirements.
- Coordinates with personnel to ensure that service to the customer meets an acceptable standard and generates positive feedback
- Cooperates with the safety team and GMS Risk Management representatives in the investigation and analysis of potential hazards to enforce methods and reduce losses of claims.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time. Occasionally, move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
- Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
- Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Working Conditions:

- Primarily in a fast-paced office or operations environment coordinating drivers, deliveries, service technicians, shipments, or transportation activities. This role requires continuous communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Strong Microsoft office skills
- Ability to quickly and accurately perform basic math skills
- Ability to quickly read a road/geographical map and communicate directions Organization skills demonstrated in job performance
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions with limited guidance

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $43,700.00 to $55,600.00 annually. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, profit-sharing programs, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
