Position Summary
The Senior Product Certification Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for product certification and Codes and Standards matters. The role leads multiple certification projects across new and existing product lines, coordinating testing, agency submissions, and the documentation needed to maintain approvals in line with product development and business priorities.
Working with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Product Development, and customer teams, the coordinator provides technical guidance, identifies certification risks, represents Terrasmart with certification bodies and testing laboratories, and improves Codes & Standards processes.
Primary Accountabilities :
- Plan and execute certification projects for new, redesigned, and existing products, including schedules, risks, and resource needs
- Maintain product certification documentation and technical files, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness
- Develop and coordinate test plans with third-party laboratories; analyze results and prepare technical reports and certification submittals
- Serve as the main contact with certification agencies, testing labs, vendors, and internal stakeholders, communicating requirements and project status clearly
- Lead site audits and inspections related to product and facility certifications
- Advise Design, Engineering, Sales, Project Management, and Operations on certification and codes-and-standards questions; provide readiness assessments and risk-based recommendations for product decisions
- Lead certification planning and prioritize compliance and performance initiatives across product lines
- Develop and improve departmental documents, policies, processes, and standardized procedures
- Monitor changes to applicable codes, standards, regulations, and industry practices, and assess their impact on product certifications
Skills and Qualifications
- Associate or 2-year degree in Engineering or related
- 5+ years of experience in product certification, compliance testing, or related
- 3+ years of experience in Solar Energy Industry
- Strong attention to detail
- Technical writing
- Able to sit up to 8 hours per day; work is primarily performed in front of a computer. Ability to do physical work on solar arrays or with solar equipment; including bending and lifting objects up to 40lb. such as PV modules or racking parts, alone or with teammates. Ability to use hand tools and handheld power tools.
- NABCEP Associate or higher, preferred
