Senior Mechanical Engineer / Engineering Manager

Location: Galveston County, TX

Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer / Engineering Manager to lead and expand our client's engineering department. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven, confident leader with a strong understanding of design modification processes and quality control within a valve manufacturing space. This role offers significant growth potential and the opportunity to help shape the future of our client's engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Engineering and Design Management: Manage the entire drawing (DWG) process, from initial request to final release, and oversee daily drawing requests and drafter workloads.

Quality and Compliance: Ensure products are manufactured reliably and consistently to meet specific operating environments and represent the Engineering Department in quality and customer audits to ensure compliance.

Project and Process Development: Manage in-house engineering projects and design new or update existing engineering processes to meet API/ISO requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, other engineering disciplines, third-party contractors, suppliers, and customers to develop specifications, fulfill customer and production requests, and support manufacturing operations.

Technical and Design Support: Provide technical support by reviewing application data to recommend materials, developing customer-specific design packages, and handling non-conformance reports (NCR) and deviation requests.

Key Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required;  Experience: 5+ years in oil & gas engineering design, with a proven track record in an engineering management role. Experience with valve, actuation, and piping systems is a plus. Technical Proficiency: Solid knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCad, MathCAD, Draftsight, and Global Shop), engineering analysis tools (FEA, CFD), industry codes and specifications (API, ISO, NACE, etc), and design modification processes. Skills: Strong leadership, self-motivation, decisiveness, and a proactive approach. Must possess superb problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while upholding quality control standards.
