Custodian

Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization providing programs and services to individuals with disabilities and other special needs. We are looking to hire a Custodian to work at our Somerset location . Due to contract requirements, Easterseals must hire individuals with disabilities or other special needs to work in our openings. The hourly wage is $18.30 per hour .

JOB SUMMARY

The Custodian is responsible for cleaning duties at the assigned location(s).

QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma or GED.

- Prior general cleaning experience preferred.

- Acceptable Criminal Record Check required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain the physical cleanliness and orderliness of the site by completing duties such as, but not limited to: sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, mopping, scrubbing, washing, dusting and emptying garbage cans. Specific locations may require additional functions and frequency of performance which are detailed in each contract.

- Clean/sanitize all office areas

- Clean all restrooms

- Clean windows

- Clean walls

- Transport trash and recyclables to collection and disposal points.

- Replenish bathroom supplies.

- Comply with safety regulations of all work areas.

- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EQUIPMENT USED/MACHINERY REQUIRED TO OPERATE

Includes, but is not limited to:

- Mops, Rags, Brushes, Brooms, Buckets

- Vacuum sweepers

- Cleaning Carts

- Floor Cleaning Equipment

- Scrubbers

- Carpet Spotter

- Squeegee

This position is for a federal contract through a federal central non-profit agency (CNA), SourceAmerica, under the AbilityOne Program to specifically employ individuals with significant disabilities.

The Custodian will be working a part-time. The rate of pay is $18.30 an hour. Employees also have access to our Employee Assistance Program for counseling and support.
