About the Purchasing Internship :

You’ll gain hands-on experience across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, RFPs, bid analysis, and spend analysis. You’ll also strengthen your analytical, project management, problem-solving, and communication skills while collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support real business needs.

Program structure:

- Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer
- Location: Cleveland, OH
- Start Date: January 2027
- Duration: Year-round internship

What we're looking for:

- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to succeed in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Preferred experience:

- ERP experience.
- Purchasing experience.
- Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S tools.

What you'll focus on:

- Support the Procurement team by managing the open order process, including supplier communication and follow-up to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Prepare, analyze, and support the execution of Requests for Proposal (RFPs), including bid evaluation and supplier communication.
- Partner with the Process Team to conduct supplier document audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the buying team to develop and maintain master product portfolios, creating a foundation for future benchmarking and sourcing opportunities.
- Assist with procurement data analysis, reporting, and special projects that drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support day-to-day procurement activities.
- Explore and apply AI tools and emerging technologies to identify process improvement opportunities, streamline administrative work, an enhance decision-making. Interns are encouraged to experiment with new approaches, think creatively, and present ideas that improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
