Material Planner I

## Position Summary

The Material Planner role I is the entry level position in the Planner job function. Experience in a Material Planner I role may prepare the individual for progression into the Material Planner II role.

Identify and prioritize production requirements and coordinate the flow of materials and parts to meet production schedules for a specific service line.  Utilizes system tools to track weekly inventory levels and monthly production. Provide weekly and monthly production and inventory reports. Conduct regularly scheduled inventory meetings to assist with facility inventory goals. These duties are performed with moderate supervision and latitude.

## What You'll Do as a Material Planner I

•    Monitor inventory levels by analyzing on hand quantities, established targets, and scheduled purchase orders and work orders. Update inventory systems and recommend actions to achieve established inventory goals and production demands for a single repair product line and facility.
•    Supports the scheduling of a limited quantity of vendors.   
•    Maintain inventory targets by working with the purchasing department, production, and materials management to develop action plans for buyers to follow and communicate to suppliers.
•    Work with production to ensure stated production priorities support on-time shipments of customer demands.
•    Review back order reporting and advise the purchasing department of part shortages to prevent production interruptions.
•    Identify and maintain optimal order/shipment quantities. Maintain item set-up parameters as related to MRP.
•    Release, process, and transact work orders, ensuring items have been properly transacted to reduce job variances at end of the month. Ensuring items are properly transferred into ORACLE for inter-company shipments. 
•    Process MRB dispositions and transactions for rework, scrap and return to Vendor (RTV). This includes the creation of work orders for returned goods (RMA’s).
•    Other duties as assigned.

## The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

•    HS diploma or equivalent 
•    Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a combination of Purchasing and Material/Inventory Control.
•    Will accept zero to one (0-1) years’ experience in a combination of Purchasing and Material/Inventory Control and with a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Management, or related field in lieu of degree. 
•    Computer literacy required (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

Preferred:

•    Knowledge of manufacturing and material planning in an MRP environment.
•    Knowledge of MRP systems, ORACLE

Pay range for this opportunity is $45,000 - $60,000.  This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
