Position Summary

As an integral part of the CarePortal Training Team, the CarePortal Training Specialist is responsible for creating a consistent, engaging, and mission-centered learning experience that equips CarePortal staff and network partners to succeed in their roles. This person leads the coordination and facilitation of new staff onboarding, manages the ongoing development and improvement of CarePortal's training curriculum and certification program, and partners across teams to ensure learning resources remain aligned with evolving platform capabilities, organizational priorities, and field best practices.

The Training Specialist is passionate about adult learning, excels at facilitating both virtual and in-person learning experiences, and uses data, feedback, and collaboration to continually improve training effectiveness. Through excellent organization, relationship-building, and a commitment to continuous improvement, this role helps strengthen the knowledge, confidence, and long-term success of the people who advance CarePortal's mission of mainstreaming Care-Sharing through the local church.

Your Responsibilities Include:

- Maintain detailed expertise on CarePortal functionality, network structure and implementation, role standards, and performance metrics

- Manage logistics and learning resources of CarePortal U onboarding curriculum, including regular Presentation Days for staff to give practice presentations

- Assist with facilitating CarePortal Platform Certification review sessions for Implementing Partner teams, as needed

- Support and collaborate with supervisors on the onboarding and certification journeys of staff and network partners, as needed

- Proactively collaborate with other teams on learning resources for implementation best practices, manager training, professional and leadership development, and more

- Manage and improve all LMS courses and their supporting resources, and coordinate necessary changes based on updates to policy and role changes

- Support the development and implementation of Leadership and Professional Development content and strategies

- Partner with the Human Resources team to coordinate a consistent and professional experience over the first two days for new staff that sets them up for a clear and effective onboarding experience

- Establish and monitor objective performance metrics and subjective user feedback on available training content

- Other duties as assigned

- Strong desire to serve others and help them succeed

- 1-2 years experience in instructional design, or related associate or bachelors degree

- Experience in building and utilizing blended learning strategies for a diverse set of adult learners

- Strong time management and organizational skills with high attention to detail

- Strong writing and editing skills without overreliance upon AI

- Capability to learn new technologies with a posture of continuous learning

- Demonstrated technical skills in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and virtual meeting software

- Experience in giving and receiving feedback and direction as part of a culture of continuous improvement
