## Job Description Summary:
The Department of Respiratory Care and Diagnostic Science in the School of Health Professions at the University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a part-time Nuclear Medicine Technology Clinical Coordinator and Instructor Faculty member.

The position is responsible for coordinating clinical education experiences and providing instruction within the Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Responsibilities will align with the candidate’s educational preparation, professional expertise, and the programmatic needs of the school.

This is a part-time, 0.38 FTE academic-year position averaging approximately 15 hours.

Job Duties

Clinical Coordination

- Coordinate student clinical education experiences in accordance with program requirements and established clinical learning outcomes.
- Assist with assigning and scheduling students at affiliated clinical education sites.
- Communicate regularly with students, clinical preceptors, and clinical site representatives.
- Monitor student attendance, progress, clinical competencies, and overall clinical performance.
- Conduct clinical site visits and student evaluations, as needed.
- Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding their clinical performance.
- Maintain accurate clinical education records and required documentation.
- Address student and clinical site concerns in collaboration with the program director.
- Assist with developing and maintaining relationships with current and prospective clinical affiliates.
- Help ensure clinical education experiences comply with program, institutional, accreditation, and clinical site requirements.

Instructor Responsibilities

- Teach assigned courses associated with the Nuclear Medicine Technology program in accordance with established program and course learning outcomes.
- Prepare and deliver course content and instructional materials.
- Evaluate student performance and provide meaningful and timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate course records and submit grades by established deadlines.
- Collaborate with the program director and other faculty members to support consistent course delivery and student success.
- Attend program- or institution-related meetings and events, as requested.
- Perform other instructional responsibilities associated with assigned courses.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology and/or equivalent degree from an accredited program.

This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position.  The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

Credentials:

- Current Nuclear Medicine Kansas state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Current Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) and/or ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Work Experience:

- Professional experience working as a nuclear medicine technologist.
- Experience working with students, clinical education, or professional training.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, education, health sciences, or a related field.

Work Experience:

- Previous teaching or clinical coordination experience.
- Experience using a learning management system, such as Blackboard Ultra or Canvas.
- Experience using a clinical education management or competency-tracking system.
- Additional professional certifications or specialty credentials.
- Experience in instruction, research, management, and/or leadership.
