About the Role

The Traveling HVAC & Sheet Metal Journeyman installs, fabricates, and maintains HVAC systems and sheet metal components on large-scale commercial and industrial projects across multiple states. You’ll work with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, and other trades to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality installations.

What you'll do

- Fabricate and install HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems
- Install HVAC equipment and related mechanical components
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Measure, lay out, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal components
- Support equipment installation, start-up, testing, and commissioning
- Troubleshoot installation and system issues
- Ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes
- Follow OSHA and company safety requirements, including PPE and confined-space procedures
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
- Coordinate with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, and other trades
- Maintain accurate installation, testing, and project documentation
- Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and less-experienced team members

What You'll Bring

- 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC and sheet metal experience
- Strong experience with HVAC ductwork fabrication and installation
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Experience with HVAC equipment, piping, air handlers, chillers, boilers, and related systems
- Strong measuring, layout, fabrication, and installation skills
- Experience with system testing, start-up, and commissioning
- HVAC Journeyman License where required by state or local regulations
- EPA Section 608 certification where refrigerant handling is required
- OSHA 10 certification required
- Strong understanding of safety, quality, and jobsite procedures
- Ability to work effectively with multiple trades and field teams
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively
