ChristianaCare is seeking Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) to join our General Laboratory team at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware.

Multiple Schedules Available — Find the Right Fit for You

We know schedule matters. That’s why we’re recruiting for several full-time opportunities within our General Laboratory.

Current schedules include:

- Evening Shift: 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

- Day Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm
- Full-Time Flex - Evening Shift: 2:30pm - 11:30pm

Weekend rotation: Every other weekend required

Holiday rotation: 2–3 holidays per year required

Eligible evening and weekend hours receive additional shift differential pay .

What You’ll Do

As an MLS/MLT in our General Laboratory, you’ll provide accurate, timely laboratory results that clinicians rely on to make important patient-care decisions. You’ll:

- Perform clinical laboratory testing accurately and efficiently

- Operate and maintain automated laboratory instrumentation

- Perform quality control and document appropriate corrective actions

- Verify critical values, specimen identification and test results

- Help ensure STAT and routine testing meets established turnaround times

- Follow laboratory quality, infection prevention and safety standards

- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical colleagues to support exceptional patient care

Qualifications:

Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry or an equivalent bachelor’s degree that includes completion of required clinical laboratory rotations through an approved education program.

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Preferred:

- ASCP certification

- Knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and procedures

- Experience with automated laboratory equipment

- Ability to manage multiple tests and priorities with accuracy

Hourly Pay Range: $29.80 - $44.71

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
