Senior Security Platform Engineer (IC4)

OVERVIEW

OnTrac is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Security Platform Engineer (IC4) to join a contractor program supporting a critical customer engagement. The customer requires one Senior Engineer (IC4) to support day-to-day backend integrations and policy platform use cases. This role is ideal for a hands-on backend engineer who can pick up integration and policy platform work quickly, deliver reliably with limited supervision, and work within an existing team's standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the delivery team, the Staff Security Platform Engineer (IC5) on the same engagement, and customer stakeholders, including the customer's tech lead, to ensure project success from initial definition through final delivery.

ENGAGEMENT

• Expected start date: 12 October 2026

• Expected end date: 8 January 2027 (very high likelihood of extension)

• Location: United States, fully remote

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Core, hands-on experience building backend services and integrations in Golang

• Core experience with MongoDB as an application data store, including data modeling and query design

• Core experience with Snowflake, including loading data into it and querying it from backend systems

• Core experience building and running services on AWS

• Experience building and maintaining integrations between backend systems and supporting platform use cases alongside a customer engineering team

• Ability to take well-scoped work from a tech lead, deliver it with limited supervision, and participate in code review

USEFUL QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior work on a security or policy platform team

• Prior experience as an embedded contractor on a customer engineering team

SCOPE AND DELIVERY EXPECTATIONS

The following covers the scope of work we anticipate the contractor supporting throughout the project. This scope is in line with our expectations of the project but is subject to change.

• Support day-to-day backend integration work and policy platform use cases for the customer, delivering changes in Golang against MongoDB, Snowflake, and AWS-hosted services

• Implement assigned integrations and platform features from definition through delivery under the direction of the customer tech lead and the Staff Security Platform Engineer (IC5)

• Deliver work to the customer's technical standards, following the code review, testing, and deployment practices established by the customer's team

• Onboard rapidly and begin contributing to integration work early in the engagement

• Communicate progress, risks, and blockers promptly to the Staff engineer, the customer tech lead, and delivery stakeholders
