## Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing and building an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. ## Job Summary:

The BIM Manager is responsible for leading the implementation, governance, coordination, and continuous improvement of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across the project. The position ensures that engineering and construction models are appropriately structured, coordinated, validated, and made available to support engineering, procurement, construction, Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), field execution, progress measurement, and turnover activities.

The BIM Manager serves as the primary interface between project functions and digital delivery teams for model-based workflows, ensuring that BIM requirements, standards, data structures, and deliverables align with project execution objectives.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”

## Major Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, and maintain the functional BIM Execution Plan (BEP), including modeling standards, responsibilities, workflows, naming conventions, coordinate systems, model maturity requirements, and information exchange protocols.
- Establish and enforce BIM governance, model quality standards, and model/data management procedures across engineering disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Lead multidisciplinary model coordination and clash-detection activities, ensuring identified conflicts are assigned, tracked, resolved, and incorporated into the appropriate design/model revisions.
- Coordinate model federation and integration across applicable design platforms and disciplines.
- Ensure model geometry, attributes, metadata, equipment/tag information, and other construction-relevant data meet established project requirements.
- Support AWP and WorkFace Planning by enabling model-based CWA/CWP/IWP development, visualization, constructability reviews, quantity verification, work packaging, and field planning.
- Establish processes for transferring model information into downstream construction automation and project systems.
- Partner with Engineering, Construction, Procurement/Supply Chain, Project Controls, Commissioning, and Information/Digital teams to ensure model information supports the complete EPC lifecycle.
- Coordinate model-based constructability reviews, installation sequencing, logistics planning, temporary works, and field execution visualization.
- Support integration of BIM with technologies such as reality capture, laser scanning, photogrammetry, GIS, digital twins, and field visualization solutions where applicable.
- Develop processes for scan-to-model and as-built validation, including comparison of installed conditions against design/model coordinates and identification of deviations.
- Establish model health and quality metrics and routinely report model coordination issues, clashes, data completeness, and outstanding actions to project leadership.
- Manage BIM-related application configuration, access, workflows, templates, and project standards in coordination with the appropriate technology/application owners.
- Support turnover and closeout by ensuring that final model information accurately represents required as-built conditions and satisfies project/client digital deliverable requirements.
- Provide BIM training, coaching, and technical guidance to project personnel and promote adoption of model-based execution processes.

## Education and Experience Requirements:

- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13  years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience​

## Required Knowledge and Skills:

- Significant experience working across functions (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, IS&T) for BIM and project execution
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain new work processes and technologies to all levels of the organization
- Ability to problem solve, especially in an integrated project delivery information environment, applying industry best practices
- Previous experience in developing project standards, class libraries, and master data management
- Experience in developing data management execution strategies and configuration control
- Experience in working closely with senior client staff and JV partners or subcontractors in designing and implementing digital solutions
- Knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud/ BIM 360, Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD and model federation/coordination workflows with familiarity with platforms such as Civil 3D, Plant 3D, Synchro, Revizto, iConstruct or equivalent EPC tools being beneficial
